2008

Het eindwerk van Aline Vandenbulcke, stagiaire Biomedisch Laboratoriumtechnologe van de Hogeschool West-Vlaanderen,  getiteld 'Gentherapie voor de ziekte van von Willebrand: haalbaarheidsstudie van verschillende strategieën', begeleid door Simon De Meyer, werd bekroond werd met de prijs voor het beste eindwerk door de Belgische Vereniging van Laboratorium-Technologen: Prijs BVLT vwz 2007-2008 en haalde de finale top 3  van de Innovation Awards 2008 van het Innovatiecentrum West-Vlaanderen in samenwerking met het Ondernemerscentrum Kortrijk, in de categorie Gezondheidzorg. 

2007

• De vierdejaarsleerlingen van de KA Beveren Sportschool (Beveren-Waas) behaalden de 3° plaats van  VIB Scientists@work 2007 met hun project over  'Zoektocht naar nieuwe middelen tegen trombose: bloedstollend onderzoek?' dat ze uitvoerden onder begeleiding van Simon De Meyer, Bauke De Maeyer, Isabelle Salles en Brecht Iserbyt.  Het Nieuwsblad
