Research at Kulak
The research done on campus covers all the disciplines in which education is provided, that is, the Arts and Humanities, Behavioural Sciences and Biomedical and Exact Sciences.
Our research measures up to international (bibliometrical) standards and our researchers form part of respected national and international networks. In addition, the campus always accommodates at least ten foreign fellows. The research that is carried out in Kortrijk is closely connected to the Leuven centres and complements their scientific explorations. Kulak Professors are usually members of research units in Leuven, and vice versa. What is more, our research is tuned to the area as a whole. This means, on the one hand, that we strongly interact with nearby institutions of higher education in Flanders and in the North of France; and on the other hand, that we conduct applied research that fits in with the needs of the (regional business) community.
Research Units
An increasing number of professors seek to interact with the work done by colleagues and create units of researchers, who then benefit from their collaboration and the broader range of approaches. That is why our researchers always form part of a research unit.

Individual Research
Although researchers always form part of a research unit, it goes without saying that they also carry out individual research.
