Research facilities
Researchers can make use of the University's research infrastructure and, in Kortrijk in particular, can rely on the means provided by the Interdisciplinary research facilities (IRF). These research facilities each have a co-ordinator and some co-operators. The Interdisciplinary Research Facilities allow buying and using basic research facilities together. In addition, the students can rely on the IRF's for a particular research assignment or for borrowing ICT-materials.
The Interdisciplinary Research Facility ICT
The IRF ICT supports research by providing ICT, multimedia and high-performance database and computing (for example for research about e-learning, data processing, modeling, numerous simulation and experimental experimental steering).
The IRF ICT is led by a steering committee headed by Herbert De Gersem.
The Interdisciplinary Research Facility Life Sciences
The IRF LS groups the experimental research of the group Biomedical Sciences and the group Science and Technology.
This IRF is led by a steering committee headed by Koenraad Muylaert.
