Welcome to KU Leuven Kulak

Welcome to Kulak, the undergraduate campus of KU Leuven, and a campus that is unique in various aspects.

Kulak has its own educational and research profile, which complements that of the big urban campuses. It is the only campus in Flanders where you can find all the faculties or study programmes in one complex. The architecture and location of our campus, with its interconnected spaces and setting in a green oasis, create a congenial backdrop for amicable social contacts. Students of various disciplines take courses together, which adds to the opportunity to cross boundaries between different faculties. In addition, multiple events,  such as seminars  given by political, socio-economic and scientific authorities, support this translational vision and broaden the students' views of science and society. 

By focussing on the crucial first years of academic training and working in relatively small groups, we are able to provide our students with the support and tuition they need and this in an environment that stimulates learning. It goes without saying that the students are invited to show initiative and a strong sense of responsibility. They support each other intensely and this leads to passing rates that are significantly higher in Kortrijk in the first year than at other universities.

As our campus forms part of KU Leuven, the students are closely connected to Leuven because we share our programmes, professors, and high quality standards with respect to education, research and service to the community. The campus has some 120 full professors, and some 100 Leuven academics who teach in Kortrijk on a regular basis. Our Alma Mater is an internationally renowned institution, with an excellent educational and research potential, and which can pride itself on its strong networks, both locally and internationally.

Our campus also strongly invests in scientific research at an international level, which creates a unique chance for bachelor students to get a first taste of scientific research.

In brief, Kulak is a flourishing campus, full of young minds and people who are passionate about education and research.
