Aquatic Biology
The Laboratory of Aquatic Biology (LAB) focuses on the biology of aquatic microorganisms. The laboratory is based at K.U.Leuven Campus Kortrijk, a satellite campus of K.U.Leuven university. The laboratory is part of the Group Sciences and is associated with the Interdisciplinary Research Centre (IRC) at K.U.Leuven Campus Kortrijk. It is also linked with the laboratories of Plant Ecology and of Aquatic Ecology and Evolutionary Biology in Leuven.

FacilitiesOur facilities include a micro-algal and zooplankton culture facility and an outdoor area for mesoscale experiments. Our equipment includes stereo, inverted and epifluorescence microscopes, lab and field fluorometers and (in the IRC) L2 facilities, HPLC, GC, flow cytometer and a basic molecular lab (PCR, etc).
