D3 Description and critical evaluation of the methodology and results from application of NEWS for quality control of composites, layered materials and metals and their comparison with competing methods. UPDATE-FINAL
D4 Feasibility test of several NEWS techniques on thin extended structures, complex geometries and rotating parts. FINAL
D5 Feedback of the observations toward the technological development of a test device inspection system. FINAL

decision on the experimental NEWS method to be implemented in the full scale validation model

D6 Support in terms of simulation models for the experimental optimisation study envisaged in WP1. UPDATE
D7 A new theoretical approach and a methodology on how to locate/image defects or damaged regions using NEWS techniques in simple objects, including preliminary tests of the imaging approach to specially manufactured samples. UPDATE
D9 A simulation based method for damage zone discrimination in parts of tested object and recognition of its limitations and influencing factors. UPDATE
D10 Support and guidance for experimental procedures and methodology in terms of method selection, sensor and actuator placement and data acquisition (WP1, WP3, WP4). UPDATE
Milestone M3:
simulation study of the feasibility to apply defects localization and imaging methodology based on NEWS techniques
