ALT Research Center on CALLIntroductionALT is a research centre in the field of Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL). The centre brings together all researchers involved in CALL and working in different sections and departments of K.U.Leuven, K.U.Leuven Campus Kortrijk, the Department of Linguistics, the Institute of Living Languages and the Centre of Language and Migration. ALT is an acronym for Acquiring Language through Technology and Apprentissage des Langues et Technologie. The centre supports projects in Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) and studies in particular the effectiveness of ICT in language education. This involves research and development, aimed at developing electronic learning platforms, and also more theoretical research on the effectiveness of CALL in language learning.
